Testimonies

Have you ever wondered at how cool God is? I wanna give thanks to him for so many things. Ever since I set foot on French soil, my life was nv gonna be the same. My lifestyle was nv gonna be the same and my trials...were DEFINITELY not gonna be the same.

The 6-7 months in Salon de Provence was truly an awesome testimony of how God pulled me through the trials and obstacles I faced. I can never thank him enough. But something happened after...

The moment I got too comfortable, God moved me out again. I was to move to my new base, 7 hours up north in Tours Air Base. Which is just about 2hrs drive frm Paris, but anyway...3+wks ago, while I was driving up to my new base...we encountered some really rough showers and my car got into some prbs. My wipers, when activated will not stop and had no synchronization. Once I set it to "Off", it still continues wiping. To cut the story short, I went to Volkswagen and told them about my prb, showed it to them and asked for a quote. Cost of repair: $400. I was really sulking, decided not to repair though. That night, I was talking to a sister over msn and she told me..."pray that either someone in your new base knows how to repair or perhaps God will simply make it right again!" I was like...haha...ok.

Heres the news ppl: 3+wks have passed. And my wipers have not gone out of sync, works perfectly fine and I've no idea why. Since that day. COOL huh? Haha...

Next...

I've been bothered in my spiritual walk with God too ever since I arrived in my new base. I had to start from square 1 and I really dislike getting out of my comfort zone. Settle in a new environment...utilities...supermarkets...all different. But what I found toughest was getting to a church. As you all may know, finding an English speaking church anywhere out of Paris in France, is like finding a needle in a haystack. All the churchs are in French, and my french is really really basic. And I've found this a big obstacle. Especially since I've to re-introduce myself, use body language and simply break out of my comfortable lifestyle.

But today...I decided to get up early and just go. Don't think too much about what happens. You go, he provides. So I went.

Stepped in the church... seemed empty except for the musicians who were practising...but anyway, I introduced myself to the soundman. Told him who I was...where I came from etc.. (In Basic French) and told him I can't really speak French. Haha...he told me he'll help me as much as he can. Just b4 the svc start, a gal came to me and told me that her fren (the soundman) told her tt I needed help (translation). I was really pleased and re-introduced myself to her and u know what...it was really funny. She translated everything INCLUDING the praise and worship songs! Haha, i'm not laughing, i'm really thankful for her! Awesome man. Svc ended...and I went round introducing myself to as many ppl as I cld.. (who understood me tt is). Got into contact with a youth leader as well as the Senior Pastor. But what happened next...I finally saw what God was doing..

The Senior Pastor introduced me to a French* Pilot trainee who was also attending the church. He's a pilot trainee in my base and he's just in the squadron opposite of mine! He and his family are all here with him. It was really cool...then came the shocking news... he told me that he was also from Salon and his church frens in Salon told him about me! Turned out tt we both went to the same church back in our old base. =) Friends in Salon actually called him 2 weeks ago to tell him about me, he wanted to bring me to church today but had to attend to his baby or sth, so couldn't. But he was shocked to see me in church...kept asking how I found out about the church and how I got here...etc. He also told me that he can translate for me if I needed. I dunno how to explain, but to have a fellow brother who is also a fellow colleague is really...what I needed. Just to let u know, we're all in the same jet doing all about the same stuff. Thank God. =) Haha...

He open doors...all you need to do, is take that first step..of faith.

Thank you Father. =)
