I went to church this morning expecting another great time of worship together and well, like a normal sunday. But it turned out totally different! I decided to go to church with an excited spirit, full of enthusiasm. I watched Ps.Kong Hee preach over the net b4 I left for church, and he was sharing about writing down whatever you want God to help you with and commiting it to God. Well, I did that and that explains my previous blog entry. After that, I got on my knees and asked God to grant that joy again, not just for today but everyday. I got already and decided that maybe I shld take along my ipod and listen to it as I make my way to church. I did. The weather was cool and well....pretty nice. Went to church...we had our pre-service prayer...I did not bother about the language anymore and just started praying out loud in English...just having a great time with God.
Then, the service started. Pastor Joo (the senior pastor) led worship today and he started off with "Glory to the Lamb" in French of course...I could identify it and started singing along, both in English and then French. Haha, it was fun but a great time of worship. As the worship continued...I could just feel God's presence...the ppl crying out loud...praying...and for the first time, I could tell the difference between French and speaking in tongues...they were all praying in tongues! I was so glad....I was ministered...at that instant, I thought of my precious ministry back home, Detonate.
Guys, I just want to share this with you. The numbers may not be encouraging, it may seem like the ministry is going down, always faced with problems and no amount of solutions seems to be able to solve it...its as good as not coming...and closing the ministry down... but my friends, that is just the satan's lie. If we want Detonate to really be a ministry of impact, to be as explosive as its name...then we have to take OWNERSHIP of our ministry. When we see the need or the prb, we don't just leave it to the leaders and expect them to know it and solve it. Lets help one another. Leader or no leader, this is OUR ministry and we must help each other. Don't lose heart by thinking that this ministry has "restarted" so many times...its never easy. But a ministry with problems is a GROWING ministry. I am keeping all of you in prayers. All of you. Hang in there alright? Encourage those who've not been coming, don't just ask "WHY didn't u come to church" but understand their situation and try to identify with them. Be a life encourager, not a church bouncer. k?
Worship was awesome. I teared and teared. When it all ended, I was given the most surprising shock in France. Pastor Joo mentioned about me (apparently I had no idea it was me till i heard "Singapour") , and immediately I knew he wanted me to share about how I came to know Christ. I was stunned but well, when it comes to the blessings of God, you can never run out of testimonies. I went up on stage and shared on how I came to know Christ. I said that I was born in a Christian family and did not really have one of those "significant" moments where I asked Jesus to come in my life...but I emphasized that it was how through the years that I see God being so real to me. I shared about my mum's testimony..on how she got healed from a incurable disease...and how God has provided for me and my family all these while. All of us were ministered. God can never be thanked enough.
After the whole service, I had a great time mingling around with the youths, and well, they invited me for a session of Paintball on the 1st week of Nov! After which, we'll be back in church for a good time of praise and worship. Amazing isnt it? Haha... and oh, this fri....my instructor is taking us out for a go-karting race! We're all gonna try to beat him!
France, beautiful country with delightful past times. BUT I STILL MISS SINGAPORE FOOD!!! Nasi Lemak....Laksa...Chicken Rice...MAN!
