All glory to God =)

I finally did what I aimed to do in France, to serve. I was sharing with Esther that this church has taught me alot. Their focus without fail is prayer. And i tell you, you know right that instant their heart is all out for God. Before we start practice, there was prayer. (Not those short ones). After practice, there was prayer again (Before main service starts, ppl are encouraged to come 1/2 earlier to pray). And during worship, there was prayer. It was really cool. I played the acoustic guitar for the service and though there were many setbacks with the sound, I was just glad to be able to serve.

But what I would like to share though, is something really that hit me. Arriving to church this morning, I was told that the church was burgled and 2 big amps, 3 guitars, cables as well as all the drumsticks were stolen. I was even told the thief attempted to steal the piano as well but failed. And before practice, we were praying. And somehow I was surprised and the very first sentence of my prayer. "Lord, have mercy on them for they know not what they did. Forgive them just as you forgive us for we too are sinners." Honestly speaking, I just felt that in my spirit. But i was surprised as the Samuel I knew, and the Samuel all my frens knew wld react this way : "God will judge. Those guys will not have a good time". Don't you agree? And i thought to myself, this is so true. How different is a thief, compared to us? No difference. Some might argue the degree of the actions, but isnt a sin, big or small, still a sin? In the eyes of God, does it make a difference if u shoplift or u tell a lie? Perhaps many may argue otherwise, but I feel that a sin is still a sin. Yes, there are many different consequences of your actions, no doubt, but committing a small sin doesn't make us any better than someone who committed a big one.

Friends, let's take this time to recommit ourselves to our Father. Confess our sins and acknowledge that he is ruler of our lives. Let him have the driver seat in the winding roads ahead, for only he knows the way. Let him be the pilot.

"Father, I thank you for granting me this opportunity to serve. I thank you for blessing me time and again. Right now, I would like to commit myself, my friends as well as the thieves who stole from your house. Lord I ask for your mercy and forgiveness that you'll forgive us sinners. I ask that you grant us assurance in our hearts that all will be well, to have faith and know that you are our provider and you'll never let us go hungry. Also grant us good health and nourish our bodies when we eat. Help us turn to you when faced with temptations, turn to you in times of pain or joy. We commit ourselves to you and ask that you come into our hearts to feel the void, for only you make the perfect fit. Thank you Father and in your mighty name WE pray, Amen. "
