Last Sunday, I was in Paris and I attended Hillsongs Paris once again. It was awesome. Worship was again both in French & English, I truly had an awesome time. But I wanna blog this entry about what the speaker shared. Speaker was Andy Elmes from Portsmouth, England. He was touching on Matt 26:36-45 (The Garden of Gethsemane).
He shared that each of us have a secret garden with God. One that no one is able to handle but just you and God. Out of 12, Jesus chose his closest 3 to join him...but even then....when it was time for his "secret garden", he went alone. As you may have known, Jesus went forth 3 times to pray and each time he came back, they were all sleeping. It was not that Jesus found it rude or sth that they slept, but rather, he knew what was about to come. He was about to press "PLAY" on the torments and torture that awaited him. Pastor Andy went on that we should each have that secret garden that only God and us share. And I quote, "God wants uniqueness, not performance". Having a secret garden doesn't = sunday church. Rmbr that! He went on by saying we don't need evangelistic projects...we need churches to teach the people to have evangelistic lifestyles! We don't need worship projects...we need to teach the people to have a lifestyle of worship! How true :)
But what I like bout his sermon was what he said in the end...
He asked if anyone has tried "Pessotta" (Not sure about the spelling). Its an italian dessert. He went on by saying that he once went to a cafe and asked what is "Pessotta". The waiter paused...and said "Its like caramel....but its not, its like cream...but its not, its like brulee (french dessert) but its not..." The waiter then looked at him and said "You just got to try it!" Pastor Andy linked this up with Jesus. Nothing he says will be able to describe fully who or what Jesus is...you just got to try! Besides, if you make a decision, and nothing happens (WHICH EVEN I'M SURE THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN...) you have nothing to lose!
Well, based on my life experience, I myself can't describe to u how wonderful or how marvelous Jesus is...but I got to tell u, u HAVE to give it a try. :)
Jesus rox my world. Even in my now-broken English (Thanks to my beloved French frens), I'll still give him all the praise and continue to share this good news. :)
