You know when I was young...i used to watch this cartoon..Captain Planet..saving the earth..protecting it...and I was like wow. Superman...wow, hes super.
But u know...the greatest superhero i've ever known or met, is my maker. Living in France now, I have grown so much closer to God, hes like this presence on the empty chair next to me. I talk to him like I've known him for years!
Today was a day that I can't stop thanking God for. I went to church...and my, I enjoyed the worship. Though the sermon was abit tough as I decided to give the translator a break today and i'l try my best to understand...haha, i understood abit. But it was great...we had lunch together in church after the service. Language barrier but you know what? God took it away! I was able to talk to many ppl, especially the youths...broken english..broken french..but you know, when God is with you, your brothers and sisters in Christ miraculously just understands you! Haha...thank God.
In the evening, I was invited to a youth's hse for a farewell party. He was going to another state to study to become a doctor. I was so glad for him. Went to his place...played soccer..and we had fellowship over the table. It was wonderful. Found out more about my translator who is also a fellow youth. Shes actually not from France! That caught me by surprised. Shes from Madagascar, yes u heard it right...Madagascar. Haha..so cool huh? But she studies English. I was just sharing with her about worship...music, and I was so ministered by what she said.
She said that worship is something we have in our everyday lives, not just sunday morning, I so agree with her. And she said no matter what we do, prayer is the most important. Before we do anything, Pray. Before we arrange the chairs, pray, before we start the music, pray. My...this is not sth i haven heard b4, but to hear things like this, makes me feel so loved by God.
Fellow frens in Singapore, fellow Detons, keep up the worship. Remember, worship is a lifestyle. Not just sat afternoon but everyday. What song did God put in ur heart today? Worship is not about music. Music is a tool, but music does not = to worship. No matter what you do, Pray. Pray more than you play. Its not easy, but when you pray...you can move mountains. Sounds lame?
Prayer did this to me :
- Healed my mum.
- Granted me a place in the air force.
- Provided finance for my sister to study in US
- Grant my dad parking lots as whichever carparks he goes to
- Provided buses for me to take when I need them
- Helped me in my daily prbs
- Protected my life
- He held me in the G-FET and brought me through because I prayed
- He brought me through prosecution
- He blessed me with the talent of playing the drums
You need more? I am where I am now because of prayer. Prayer does wonders. Life isn't going to be easy. The devil is always ready to pounce on his prey...are you ready to take him on? Or are you going to let your guard down and let him get all over you?
It's one thing to know the right thing. It's another to do it. Life is tough but when God guides you along...hey, life is purposeful.
I thank you Lord for blessing me and protecting me. I pray that you'll watch over my fellow brothers and sisters in Singapore. Watch them well and continue to guide them. It's not easy for them, but they know they'll go through times like this, because they love you. Thank you Father. Love you. Sam.
